CBK Holds the Fourth Annual MENA Central Banks Regional Research Network Conference in Collaboration with World Bank
As part of its constant efforts to strengthen the regional cooperation and address critical economic concerns, the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) held the Fourth Annual MENA Central Banks Conference under the theme "Navigating the Challenges of Uncertainty, Climate Change, and Debt" from 28 to 30 January 2025.
CBK stated that the conference organized in collaboration with the World Bank brought together leading experts, researchers and policymakers from central banks across the region. The discussions focused on pressing economic issues and the course to promote joint economic research, and provide recommendations for decisionmakers in adopting appropriate economic policies to address uncertainty in the region.
The CBK statement shed the light on the discussions on the increasing challenges where uncertainties towards world economy overlap, ranging from geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressures and rapid technological advancements to the impacts of climate change and rising debt burdens on the countries of the region. Discussions stressed the importance of enhancing regional dialogue, exchanging expertise and building capacities, in light of the changing global circumstances that need innovative solutions, comprehensive visions and unifying efforts to address the challenges facing the countries of the region.
CBK concluded its statement by affirming its commitment to promoting cooperation with international institutions at regional and global levels for developing visions, proactive capabilities and human resources to weather the current challenges and seize future opportunities.
