About the Organizers

The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) is a public institution established by virtue of the Law No. 32 of 1968 concerning Currency, the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Organization of Banking Business and commenced operation on the 1st of April 1969. The CBK’s broad responsibilities include among others, the issuance of banknotes and coins, setting and implementing monetary policy, and regulating and supervising banking activities in the State of Kuwait. The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) is an international standard-setting organisation that promotes and enhances the soundness and stability of the Islamic financial services industry by issuing global prudential standards and guiding principles for the industry, broadly defined to include banking, capital markets and insurance sectors.
