The Central Bank of Kuwait Won the Best Visual Award in the Arab Region for Best Website Design for 2010

The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) was awarded the Best Visual Award in the central banks category of best visual website in the Arab region for 2010, which was presented at a ceremony hosted by the Pan Arab Web Awards Academy held in Beirut, Lebanon on the 23rd November 2010. Ms. Eiman Alanzi, Head of the Center for Economic and Finance Information Resources, received the prize on behalf of the CBK.

The award given by the Academy under the Banking Web Awards category promotes intellectual and professional creativity in the website design of banks and financial institutions which provide banking services to the public and private sectors worldwide. Worth mentioning is that the Organizing Committee of the Academy has chosen the website of the Central Bank of Kuwait from among the central banks of ten Arab countries: Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

The Pan Arab Web Awards Academy, in association with its strategic partners (The Arab Administrative Development Organization affiliated with the League of Arab States, MICROSOFT, and Business Software Alliance in the Middle East) aims to raise the standards of websites in the Arab region and improve their performance through encouraging the spirit of innovation and creativity of workers in the e-banking field. The winners in this annual competition are chosen by a Jury Committee of Arab and regional design and technical professionals according to special designated guidelines following the international standards web technology. Points awarded are based on five criteria: concept and creativity, technical aspects and ease of use, content and structure, visual design solution and aesthetics, and interactivity.
